Willie Allen:  The name even sounds like a race car driver.

For as long as he can remember, Willie Allen has wanted to race everything he could get his hands on. A burning desire to race was developed early on in his life, but never became a reality until he met a young lady named Kristen. Kristen’s father spent his spare time building go-karts and Willie was given the opportunity to begin a lifelong dream. Willie’s life soon became ruled by two passions….Kristen…..and passing everything and everyone on the track. Within two months, Willie was absolutely smoking every competitor at three local tracks.

Enter Willie’s father and Wendell Mobley:  Their friend and fellow competitor, Wendell Mobley, makes his living writing songs (Trisha Yearwood’s I Need You, Rascal Flatts’ I Melt and Fast Cars and Freedom, Kenny Chesney’s How Forever Feels and There Goes My Life, etc.) to the tune of 50 million in sales. Mobley and Allen’s father committed themselves to being car builders and car owners.  Soon, the rides were bigger and faster.

Wendell Mobley calls on a friend:  Modern Management’s Ted Greene (country artists Diamond Rio, Sara Evans and Josh Turner) accepted Mobley’s invitation to see Allen race. Ultimately, Greene was so impressed with this young man and his ‘shoe string’ budget accomplishments, he became committed to creating opportunities. Greene used his connections with GM Racing officials to land Allen in a 2005 GM driver development program. Allen ran the fastest laps of all thirteen drivers during the three-day test and the doors started to open for the Nashville native.

The Payoff:  After making the most of every opportunity presented to him, the boyhood dream finally became a reality in 2007. Willie Allen signed a deal to become the full time driver of the #13 Chevy Silverado for ThorSport Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. "There have been many people who have helped me along the path, from Go-Karts to Late Models, and I'm so thankful for that," said Allen. "To reach this level is almost unbelievable to me. You've got to keep believing in yourself, and make the most of the opportunity when it comes.

From Super Trucks to the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series, UARA racing to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to the NASCAR Busch Series…..Willie Allen has 70 wins, 118 top 5’s and 156 top 10’s.
