Willie Allen Gets Victory and Sets Track Record At Nashville's Music City Motorplex

Nashville, TN - Willie Allen returned to Nashville's historic Music City Motorplex this past Saturday night and took the checkered flag during the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model feature. Allen, the reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year, began his night by breaking a track qualifying record that has stood for 5 years. Allen's qualifying lap time of 19.219 seconds broke the track qualifying record previously set by Andy Johnson in 2003. Allen began his racing career at the Music City Motorplex and won rookie of the year titles in both Super Trucks and Late Models. Allen also won the NASCAR Late Model Points Championship at the track in 2006.

"It's an honor to hold a record at the Music City Motorplex," said Allen. "This is the track that I grew up around and started my racing career at. There have been so many great drivers that have raced in Nashville. It means a lot to be fortunate enough to hold a qualifying record at such a historic track."

Allen was one of the two cars inverted in the field and started the race in the second position. The Nashville native wasted no time in moving his #26 Rascal Flatts Chevy into the lead. Allen passed Michael House on lap 3 and went on to lead the remaining 47 laps of the late model feature before cruising his way to another victory in Nashville.

"Our car was unbelievable for this race. This may have been one of the best cars I have ever driven. Our crew worked so hard to give me a great car. They work relentlessly to make sure we have a good car every time we come out and race. I can't thank them enough for all the time and effort they put in."
